Four years ago all I wanted for Christmas was a certain puppy out of the litter from a house down the street from us. Earlier in November that year I was riding my bike past a house where a friend of mine and his three brothers lived. His youngest brother, Seth, stopped me and told me that their dog had had puppies that morning,Soon he led me inside to show me them. When we entered the room where they were at I was filled with joy and knelt down to pick one up, its mother watching me very sharply. I have always loved dogs but seeing these puppies made me love dogs times ten. All of them were smaller than hand and had silky brown or black hair. Their eyes were shut and their noses were as small as my pinky. After that day everyday after school I would race home and finish my homework so I could go and help with the seven puppies that stole my heart. When they got big enough to start walking the brothers named them: Big boy, Candy corn, Ruby, Licorice, Peanut Butter, Maya, and Brownie. Soon, the puppies started to sell to new owners. One day after they had sold three of the puppies, my favorite Candy Corn, had fallen asleep on my lap and I whispered into her ear, "If you were mine I'd name you Millie." A week later was Christmas Morning, as my brother and I crept up stairs to see the gifts under the tree a big blue box with a red ribbon barked! I ran over and openend the box, out popped a silky brown puppy with the name 'Millie' engraved on her tag. My wish had come true, that night Millie fell asleep, underneath the Christmas tree and that's when I knew she was the best gift I had ever received for Christmas.
Whoever said diamonds were a girls best friend, never owned a dog.
